I recently attended a lunch where the guest speaker was kikki.K founder Kristina Karlsson. I was reminded of her obsession with stationery when I emptied a rainbow of coloured pencils onto my table to work on some new design sketches this morning. There is just something so yum about pencils and the promise of beautifully bound notebook. I totally knew where she was coming from and it was refreshing to hear how the success of her business continues to be driven by her personal passion for quality stationery design. I thought of how this also is how I feel about fabrics, ribbons, threads, buttons (and well, any old bit of habby really). When the 'business' side of business gets overwhelming sometimes it is nice to quietly return to why I am here in the first place - I know there are a few of you who feel the same! x

Look at moi
I do love a bit of stationery and I do adore a bit of personalisation - hence I have lots of love for oimoi. They have just relaunched their e-stationery service and you can send a free sample to try it. I have bought one of the paperweights in the past (admittedly when the exchange rate was a tad kinder) and they make the most special gifts (with gorgeous packaging to match). They have a huge range of paper stationery as well as trays that can be personalised - noice!

It's a Wind Up
New to Lyssy May are these clever cards by Little Jane St. Alarna is the talented artist behind the Brisbane stationery label which I came across at the last Young Designers Market. My faves amongst her collage style cards are the 'wind me up and let me go' designs but they are all gorgeous. Alarna also offers a customised service with the cards coming in the their very own fabric pouches. Love it!
